Privacy Policy

1. Scope

This policy covers the My Food AI mobile app (iOS; Android planned) and the myfoodai.app website. The App helps users make informed food choices based on their dietary profile using AI analysis. We designed it to minimize the collection of personal identifiers.

2. What we collect

Account and subscription data: App Store/Google Play purchase receipts and platform-provided identifiers needed to validate subscription status. We do not ask for your name, email, or phone number.

Dietary profile: dietary preferences, allergies, restrictions, and notes you enter in the App. This data is stored on our servers to personalize your analysis results and is deleted when you delete your account.

User content: photos of menus and ingredient labels you submit for analysis. Full-resolution images are deleted from our servers after processing. A small thumbnail version of each image is stored with your search history so you can visually identify past searches. Analysis results (text) are also retained as part of your search history.

Search history: AI-generated analysis results are stored to provide your search history feature. You can delete individual searches or your entire account at any time.

Diagnostics and usage: basic app events, crash logs, device/OS/app version, and IP address at connection (for fraud/security). No IDFA-based tracking; no targeted advertising.

Website: our website does not use cookies for tracking. Basic server logs (IP address, page visited) may be collected for security purposes.

3. How we use data

We use your data to: provide and improve the App (image and label analysis, personalized dietary recommendations, subscription management, reliability monitoring); secure the service; and respond to support requests.

We do not send marketing emails, sell your data, or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.

4. AI processing and third-party services

We send images and your dietary profile context (not your name or account details) to OpenAI (our processor) solely to run the analysis you request. We configure services not to use your data for model training.

OpenAI may process data on servers outside your region; see their privacy policy for details. We don't perform face recognition and ask you not to include people in photos.

AI-generated results are non-deterministic and may vary between analyses. We do not guarantee the accuracy or completeness of any AI output. See our Terms of Use for important health and safety disclaimers.

5. Retention

Full-resolution images: deleted from our servers after analysis is complete. Thumbnails: stored with your search history until you delete the individual search or your account.

Search history: retained until you delete individual searches or your account.

Dietary profile: retained until you modify it or delete your account.

Receipts and identifiers: kept as needed to validate active subscriptions and comply with tax/audit obligations.

Diagnostics and logs: retained only as long as needed for security and reliability purposes.

6. Legal bases (EEA/UK)

Contract performance (to provide the App and its features); legitimate interests (security, analytics, service improvement); and consent where required by applicable law.

7. Sharing

We share data only with processors necessary to operate the service: cloud hosting providers, analytics/crash reporting services, OpenAI for AI inference, and Apple/Google for billing. We may disclose data if required by law. We do not sell personal information.

8. Your choices and rights

In-app: delete your account and all associated data; delete individual searches; modify your dietary profile; manage your subscription via Apple/Google.

Rights (where applicable): access, deletion, portability, rectification, objection, and consent withdrawal. To exercise these rights, email Loading.... We will verify your identity using your platform account or subscription information.

9. Children

The App is not intended for children under 13 (or under 16 in EEA/UK without parental consent). We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.

10. Security

We use encryption in transit, restricted access controls, and least-privilege principles. No system is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

11. International transfers

Data may be processed in countries outside your own, including the United States. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards (e.g., Standard Contractual Clauses) for international data transfers.

12. Changes

We may update this policy at any time. We will post updates here and update the "Effective" date. Material changes will be communicated via in-app notice.
